4 December - all is bright

@ N ~ the weather forecast for tomorrow says storm. Same as on my birthday, except tomorrow I don't have the day off so I actually have to venture out in it.  I'm very much hoping that my train doesn't get stuck somewhere because a tree has fallen on to the tracks.

But for now, it is relatively calm. Outside and in. I was thinking about starting my gingerbread house tonight - the dough is waiting in the fridge and it's taking most of my willpower not to gobble it up raw. I've more than doubled the amount of spices called for in the recipe so I thought maybe it wouldn't taste all that good. But it does ...

I wasn't very busy at work today, so I put a few more baubles on the tree. There can never really be too many, in my humble opinion. But a crucial thing is missing - lights! Turns out the Christmas lights have been appropriated by the Christmas Party Committee - our office Christmas party is this Friday, and we (The Decorators of The Tree) can't have the lights until next week, after the party. Outrage. So I have a plan B which will be executed tomorrow morning ...

Planning Christmas baking.
Of course, I'll only get about 10% actually done,
so it's important to plan plenty ;-)

I love how my windows look from the street.

This year I even have Christmas lights outside
(I didn't really get that far last year)

When I go to bed in a minute, my little
friend here will be brought inside in preparation
for the storm tomorrow.
I'm being a good little rural person, battening
down hatches and bringing all lightweight items
(and the dustbin) inside so they don't go flying :-)

I, too, love the way your window looks and your little outside friend...so pretty! Best of luck weathering the storm...hope it isn't too bad. We are having bright, sunshine filled days, but our highs have only been mid-30'sF and the nights around 20F. I figure if it has to be this frickin' cold, we should at least be able to enjoy some snow! Of course, here in Portland, a scattering of snow is enough to send everyone in to freak out mode and most of the city shuts down (silly gits). So, enjoy the snow for me!
